Queen Elizabeth and family attend church- with a few notable absences
There were two notable absences from the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham on Wednesday (December 25) with Prince Andrew and Prince Philip both skipping the traditional mid-morning walk and service. Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George accompanied Queen Elizabeth along with a swathe of other members of the royal family including the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte who stopped to meet well wishers at the end of mass. 98-year-old Prince Philip was discharged from hospital on Tuesday (December 24) where he was being treated for-- what the Palace described as a pre-existing condition. Prince Andrew has been keeping a low profile since he stepped down from royal duties last month in the wake of a scandal over his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex- along with son Archie were also absent-- opting to spend Christmas in Canada.
